the latest news from Bindlestiff Studio

an epicenter of Filipino American Performing Arts

Nov 16 - Nov 18

Closing Weekend of MUMU - SOLD OUT!

All the remaining shows of MUMU  are completely sold out!  Thank you to our beloved who came to one of our visitations during this 4 week run. We were truly blessed by your presence.

Resurrecting the rituals of evocation and exploring the textures of fear, a beautiful multi-sensory, art-theater experience, MUMU is a celebration of death and a meditation of our darker selves, creating new rituals and stories.

It’s 1977 in San Francisco, and a young Filipino immigrant follows his poetry into the shadows. Through an ominous soundscape and immersive space, this exploration of our unknown darkness reveals an intimate story of connection, cultural psyche, and death… this is our inquiry of everything that haunts us as a people.

Join us for Bindlestiff's

End-of-the-Year Celebration

Dec 2nd @ Social Kitchen & Brewery

Please join us for Bindlestiff's End-of-the-Year Celebration/Fundraiser on Dec 2nd, 2pm-6pm at Social Kitchen & Brewery. Enjoy food, award-winning craft beers, and raffle prizes as we toast our 2017 achievements and preview our 2018 calendar. (All-ages welcome).

We are wrapping up a full-blown calendar this year. We started off our Bindlestiff programming with The Love Edition, followed by the very first Geek Show, then our second Tagalog festival, then our longest running workshop to stage production; Stories High XVII, finally capping off with our mainstage production of the world premier of Welga. We also hosted some of APICC's United States of Asian America Festival programming, as well as co-presenting; Aklasan Festival, Granny Cart Gangstas' Pussy Generation and the current production; Mumu, by Susmaryosep.

It really took a community to make this year happen. We would like to celebrate the end of 2017 with all of our wonderful Bindlestiff community; artists, volunteers, audience, and supporters for a gathering with drinks and food. There will be entertainment, music, reflection of the year, and a look into what's to come in 2018.
