We
are wrapping up a
full-blown calendar this
year. We started off our
Bindlestiff programming
with The Love Edition,
followed by the very first
Geek Show, then our second
Tagalog festival, then our
longest running workshop
to stage production;
Stories High XVII, finally
capping off with our
mainstage production of
the world premier of
Welga. We also hosted some
of APICC's United
States of Asian America
Festival programming, as
well as co-presenting;
Aklasan Festival, Granny
Cart Gangstas' Pussy
Generation and the last
production - Mumu, by
Susmaryosep.
It
really took a community to
make this year happen. We
would like to celebrate
the end of 2017 with all
of our wonderful
Bindlestiff community;
artists, volunteers,
audience, and supporters
for a gathering with
drinks and food. There
will be entertainment,
music, reflection of the
year, and a look into
what's to come in
2018.
PSSsst,
just kidding, there are
still some shows in
December...

Bindlestiff
Stand-up Comedy
Showcase
Model
Minorities: Irene Tu
& Andrew
Orolfo
From
myths to legends. Catch
two rising stars of
stand-up comedy on Dec
8 @
8pm!
Comedian
Irene Tu returns to
Bindlestiff Studio, and
she's bringing along
fellow up-and-coming
comic, Andrew Orolfo.
With laid-back acerbic
wit, they undercut myths
of race, ethnicity, and
gender and dissect the
absurdities of life on
their path to becoming
freaking comedy
legends!
In
2017, the San Francisco
Chronicle singled Irene
out as an artist on the
brink of fame, on the
heels of being named one
of the Bay Area's 11
Best Stand Up Comedians
(SFist) and one of 20
Women to Watch (KQED).
She has performed at SF
Sketchfest, Bridgetown
Comedy Festival, Riot LA
and her comedy was
featured on Seeso and
Viceland. Irene has
opened for comedians
such
as Anthony Jeselnik, W.
Kamau Bell, Gary Gulman,
Hari Kondabolu, and
Aparna
Nancherla.
After relentlessly
hitting stages for the
past few years, Andrew
has become a staple in
the San Francisco comedy
scene, performing at the
local shows and comedy
clubs. He has been
featured in the SF
Sketchfest and the
Bridgetown Comedy
Festival. Currently, he
produces one of the best
monthly comedy showcases
in the Bay Area. A free
comedy showcase inside a
fresh and swanky barber
shop.
Don't miss this
one-night only
event!
