Arctic Hysteria
A movement-based, bilingual (German/English) play with sound and video installation by Berlin-based international theater company Kinderdeutch Projekts. Part musical, part B-grade incest porn, part disastrous sparkle pop music video.

The company's San Francisco debut, Arctic Hysteria will showcase a dream-team of international artists in a limited 2 week run.

Produced by SNAP - spearheaded by Jessica Heidt (formerly of Climate Theater) and Randy Rollison (Intersection for the Arts) - and funded by the Creative Work Fund and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

THE STORY
Set in a kingdom of artificial snow and imagined Eskimos, Arctic Hysteria follows an aging warlord as she attempts to pass on an unwanted kingdom to three ungrateful daughters - in the process descending into madness and taking the play with her.

THE COMPANY
This is Kinderdeutsch Projekts' fourth production with playwright Abi Basch since its founding in 2005. Past works have been produced internationally by companies and festivals such as the Ontological-Hysteric Incubator in New York, Intransitos Gallery in Berlin, Theaterhaus Hildesheim, Patravadi Theatre in Bangkok and the Theater Without Stages Festival in St. Petersburg.

Kinderdeutsch Projekts received an Austin Critics Table Award and a B. Iden Payne Award for fEaR oF a FüHrEr, "Must See" status from the Hildesheimer Allgemeine newspaper for Preservation, and press for Foreign C. in Time Out New York that likened the actors to "Wim Wenders angels."
